EDITOR:
KASPER BJØRKE
Hello hello! My name is Kasper Bjørke and I am a DJ and Producer of music that some people call "indie-electronic with a pop twist", hailing from Copenhagen, Denmark. Besides having played at some of the best clubs around the world, including fabric in London, Social Club in Paris, Le Bain in New York and D Edge in Sao Paolo, I have released three solo albums (my last one is called "Fool") and have remixed a long list of artists incl. WhoMadeWho, Darkness Falls - and huge acts like Moby and Shakira. In addition to producing music myself, I discovered and developed acts like Oh Land and still manage the Danish prize export Trentemøller and rising stars Reptile Youth. Oh yes, and I also have my own weekly radio show on Danish national radio channel P6 Beat, called 4/4.

Sounds like a lot? Well, I also try to have some time off where I relish in things like good food, contemporary art and furnite. I have a soft spot for discovering new music, restaurants and hotels and share them with other people, so I'll have a lot of treats up my sleeve in the near future here on HUGO. Make sure to check the blog on a regular basis to read and watch what's cooking on my end. Really thrilled to share some stuff from my world with you. Catch you around!

SEE YA LATER!

Good Day HUGO followers and followettes,

it’s Kasper once again sending you guys a little greeting from Copenhagen!
Just returned from Sónar Reykjavík where I had a crazy couple of days, playing alongside acts like Modeselektor, James Blake, Squarepusher, Trentemoller, Pachanga Boys and many others…
I had a lot of fun sharing some interesting moments and things I like with y’all (check the HUGO BOSS Youtube Channel and the HUGO BOSS Instagram page for some cool pics & flicks) throughout the last couple of months. You may won’t hear from me as frequently as you did lately on here, but I sure won’t be a stranger and will pop up here and there on the blog with a track, a recommendation or whatever… Just wanted to let you guys know I had a good old time! I’ll catch you guys later…

Cheers,
Kasper

KASPER’S BERLIN FASHION WEEK GOODY

[HearDis! 295]

Cats and kittens,

since you’re probably a good deal into fashion, you’ve most likely observed the numerous happenings at last week’s Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in Berlin online – or you were even lucky enough to be in town and check out some of the shows and events. I was really looking forward to watching the HUGO Fashion Show and to djing at the after-party… and ended up bed-bound with the worst flu! Bummer! But that didn’t keep me from cooking up a little exclusive download-treat for you guys: Check out my specially alternated dub version of my track “Sunrise” (featuring the fantastic Jacob Bellens) right here. Hope it floats your boat!

Cheers,
Kasper

ON THE ROAD

Hi Folks,

while I am looking forward to relax and enjoy some quality time at home during the holidays, I thought I’d share a couple of on the road memories with you from the past months. Whenever I can, I try to capture some special moments like these: The crowd going crazy for Trentemoller in Rome, Esben from the band Reptile Youth getting ready backstage before their release show in Copenhagen, me shopping for glasses at Campbell in Berlin, eating Snails at an event in Copenhagen where I Djed with Trevor Jackson – and some beautiful crazy skies in Ibiza.
Enjoy – and happy holidays everyone!

Cheers,
Kasper

FOODSPOTTING AT KADEAU

Hello Foodspotters!

I recently had some mind-blowing food at the Restaurant Kadeau in Bornholm, Denmark. This was my starter – scallops with wild beach plants and flowers, picked right outside the restaurant. Green, healthy and delicious. Are you hungry now?

Cheers,
Kasper

N.A.M.E. FESTIVAL 2012

Hi HUGO blog lovers,

I was just browsing my snap-shots from this summer’s festivals when I came across this photo, which was taken at the N.A.M.E. Festival 2012 – big room, big sound, big crowd! I’m sporting HUGO jeans and T-Shirt and dancing to my own beat. That night I played with Ame. In case you don’t know them, check out the Ame Remix of Frank Wiedemann & Ry: Howlin (Frank is one half of Ame). I’m just about to hit replay.

Cheers,
Kasper

HANGING OUT WITH TREVOR JACKSON

[YouTube iDf-K8-3iEU]

Hi Everyone,

it’s Kasper signing on again after quite some time! A few weeks back, during my trip to London, I had the pleasure of once again spending some time with my cherished colleague and friend, Mr. Trevor Jackson. Trevor is an acclaimed Graphic Designer, DJ and Producer (Playgroup should ring a bell…), who, for more than two decades, did tons of great works with and for everyone and their proverbial momma. I was lucky enough to have him do the cover artwork for my current album “Fool”. Since the good folks at HUGO are also fans of Trevor’s work, we decided to ask him to design a “Fool”-shirt for HUGO. Check out the video to get a glimpse into Trevor’s world and learn how and where he likes to work and why he’s considered one of the coolest dudes around by so many…Enjoy!

Cheers
Kasper

PS: Keep your eyes, ears and blogrolls open and make sure to stick around here at the HUGO blog to find out how you can receive your copy of this cool limited shirt!
