EUROMAN MAGAZINE FEATURE

Hej!

Long time, no post, but here’s an update directly from the newsstand: I did a photo shoot for a feature in the October issue of the Danish magazine EUROMAN. The outfit is from the latest HUGO collection, of course. In the interview, I’m talking about how my career as a producer and DJ took off and I’m sharing my wardrobe essentials as well as the story behind my fear of flying and a mysterious palmreader encounter.
Intrigued and feel like learning to read Danish? EUROMAN’s October issue with the full interview is out now and if you are looking for more personal updates in English, just follow my posts here on the HUGO Blog.

Cheers,
Kasper

RECORD SHOPPING IN LONDON

[YouTube 42SFCaxtL6M]

Hey Guys,

as a longtime record collector, I used to plan some of the city travels I did in the past based on the quality of the local record stores. This means a lot of nice memories still pop up whenever I see the cover of certain records. Plus, the guys on the counter usually can not only be of assistance when it comes to finding great music, but they’re usually also aware of cool things to do and nice places to visit in a city. A record store definitely worth checking out is Rough Trade in London. It is really well selected, has a long and impressing history and is nothing short of an institution for London’s pulsating music scene. But see for yourselves! We shot a little clip while browsing through their shelves…

Cheers,
Kasper

PLAYING THE HUGO BOSS SUMMER PARTY AT SAATCHI GALLERY LONDON

[YouTube fjiUMgcRu6Q]

My dear fellow followers,

it’s Kasper tuning in from England’s vibrant capital. The lovely folks at HUGO BOSS invited me to London to play their Summer Party, and since such things usually turn out to be a fun time, my response was naturally positive. I’ve played in many galleries throughout my career and always liked the way these venues allow you to leave the musical path of an ordinary clubnight, since somehow such a context seems to change people’s perception a bit and let’s them be way more open-minded about the music that’s being played. Plus, the Saatchi Gallery is quite a feast for the eyes itself, and when the numerous rooms are crowded with chic people with luscious drinks in their hands, the term “summer party” pretty much hits the bull’s-eye. So, it’s too bad some of you couldn’t make it, peep the video to get an idea of the ripping good time we were having at Saatchi! I’ll talk to you guys later…

Hello People,

Be it the dainty menu or the tasteful decor, I’ve been a fan of this place ab initio and it keeps me coming back. So, if you’re like me and like to enjoy exquisite food in a chic yet casual atmosphere, you should definitely try to get a table here next time you’re in town. We shot a little clip when we had dinner there during Fashion Week, so check it out to see some impressions!  Enjoy and stay tuned for more from my end!

V1 GALLERY, COPENHAGEN

[YouTube Q2dbPfS_c1M]

Hey y’all,

the city-hopping continues! After sharing my adventures at Berlin Fashion Week with you, it’s only coherent I’d take Fashion Week in my hometown Copenhagen as an occasion to show you guys some nice spots in my city. So, here’s a little profile-clip on the V1 Gallery (Flæsketorvet 69 – 71, 1711 Copenhagen). Not just because I’m friends with the guys in charge am I a sucker for this place, but first and foremost because they’ve been gracing our town with extraordinary exhibits for a good decade now. So, since the clip is rather self-explanatory, please go ahead and watch it to get an idea of V1 and be sure to stop by when in Copenhagen! I’ll catch you guys later!

PLAYING AT THE HUGO PARTY AT COPENHAGEN FASHION WEEK

Hello People,

it’s your host Kasper once again transmitting live via satellite… So, as easily comprehensible from some previous posts, I had quite a good time with HUGO at the Fashion Week in Berlin a couple of days back. So this time, my expectations were far from impaired, since Fashion Week in my hometown of Copenhagen was on the menu. Besides the fact that many interesting people from all over the world and in all types of fascinating couture would be crowding my city, this meant for me: Djing at the HUGO Party with my girlfriend EIF while being surrounded by many familiar faces – not the worst combo! With Restaurant Nimb, the venue itself was quite extravagant to begin with, plus the home field advantage made itself felt quite early, so we were having a good old time all the way through. If you missed out on it – eh, quite the bummer! Check out the pics (we’re both wearing HUGO in the pictures – make sure to check out the HUGO Fall Collection 2012!) of this fun night and I hope to see many of you guys around next time I’ll be playing out somewhere!

Cheers
Kasper

KASPER MEETS THE ECHO VAMPER AT I LOVE YOU MAGAZINE PARTY

[YouTube tlhXPE1eARg]

Hey Everyone,

it’s Kasper again! You know HUGO brought me out to sunny Berlin for Fashion Week in July and here’s another episode of my adventures: So this one night, after checking out a couple of nice shows and restaurants, I was invited for a night cap at the official party of the newly launched I Love You Magazine. I was keen on checking it out since, besides going through the usually entertaining melange of drinks and interesting people, I was really excited to see the Danish/English band “The Echo Vamper”, who were supposed to perform at the party and are managed by a dear friend of mine. And since sharing is caring, I spontaneously decided to stop by at their soundcheck for a brief chitchat and we also shot some more footage of the night, which was nothing but a good old time! So, if I were you, I’d simply hit play!

So long,

Kasper

A FOODIE´S HAVEN: KATZ ORANGE IN BERLIN

[YouTube WfPvEzNeAlw]

Hello people,

it’s your host Kasper Bjørke. As I’ve told you guys before, when it
comes to the charge of being a foodie, there can only be one reply
from my side: guilty! Especially when great food and a tasteful decor
come combined, I am simply sold! So during my stay in Berlin for the
HUGO Fashion Show, I took some time to check out this place called
“Katz Orange” that was recommended to me. I was quite impressed by the
interior and the food was simply delicious and thus, without further
ado, I won’t keep the info from you any longer. So, if you’re a sucker
for tasty things like myself, make sure to check out the little video
feature we shot spontaneously on Katz Orange in Berlin!

See you guys around,
Kasper

THESE STREETS WILL NEVER LOOK THE SAME

[HearDis! 218]

Johnny Jewel can do no wrong in my book. Slowly the genius producer and mastermind behind projects like Symmetry, Glass Candy, Desire and Chromatics has built his label, Italians Do it Better, into being one of the most interesting outputs for electronic indie music – with that signature Italo disco twist. The Chromatics latest album, Kill For Love, is easily the best so far in 2012.
I have had the pleasure of playing DJ sets before a couple of their live shows over the years, the latest one having been at the beginning of their current European tour, at Distortion Festival in Copenhagen. They are indeed as great on stage as on record. The setting in a majestic glass building right on the Copenhagen harbour didn’t make it any less of a great experience. The track “These Streets Will Never Look The Same” is one of my favorite songs off the album. If you didn’t buy it yet, hurry up – and try to catch them on the road as well.
