guess what this is!? Any idea? It’s the set for a photo session with The Mansisters, a project I’ve been working on for quite a while now. The EP will be released on My Favorite Robot Records on Monday, November 19, 2013. Stay tuned.
It’s Friday and it’s acid time! The next track on my list comes from Swedish producer Jens Lodén and is entitled “Wait” – don’t ask me why, ’cause he gets down to brass tacks pretty quick! Love the buildup, as well as the energy this one developes… Stream the track to get into the weekend-vibe! Hope you’ll enjoy…
well, I gotta say, there really ARE worse things than learning that Johnny Depp is a fan of your music… A friend sent me a link today to Mr. Depp’s first Beatport chart and I was truly happy and excited, given that he’s one of my absolute teenage crushes, to see that my song “Taxi Talk” is one of his ten favorite tracks at the moment! I had heard before that he’s quite enthusiastic about music and of course used to be co-owner of the Viper Room in LA (which sadly reminds me of River Phoenix, another favorite of mine…), but I wasn’t aware that he was keeping track with current club music releases! Anyway, just had to share this with you guys, now I better get back to producing some more Hollywood-approved house music!
no days off on my end – so here’s the next track on my current playlist. Guilty pleasure for sure! “Hi Life” by Monkey Safari is one of those simple-yet-effective edits that are easy to fall for, but hard to forget! I’m sure some of you have heard this one before on one of the many recent festivals and are aware of its bitter-sweet-beauty. Reminds me of all those priceless summer days in Berlin… In order to be taken away, just stream the track right here. Enjoy, people!
After Kasper already presented you some of his current favorite tracks here on the blog some time ago, I’ll finally have the pleasure of doing the same! What’s your benefit? Well, you’ll be able to hear some of my current favorite songs to play in my sets or listen to at home, aaand: you’ll also be able to download some of them for free! So in the end, you’ll have a pretty cool playlist, curated by yours truly! Deal? To start things of, here’s a really nice track from Christopher Rau’s new album. Christopher releases his music on the label Smallville Records from beautiful Hamburg and they’ve yet to release a record that is not fantastic! Enjoy “High”, check out the rest of Mr.Rau’s album and make sure to stay tuned for some more of my favorite tracks coming your way!
I’m back with quite an unusual update from the kitchen. Yes, that’s right – for one evening I have transformed into a chef! I cooked Russian borsch for a DJ Cook Off Show during the Amsterdam Dance Event. The competition was judged by Paul Oakenfold, Dubfire and Dave Clarke. I didn’t win, but I really enjoyed the show itself. It made me think of cooking more often for friends and my loved ones.
we have a special announcement to make: The amazing Trevor Jackson was kind enough to turn his classic artwork for Kasper’s album “Fool” into a HUGO T-Shirt! Stop by the HUGO Stores in Berlin or Düsseldorf, check in on Foursquare – et voilà, if you’re under the first 100 people to do so: The shirt is yours! So hurry, hurry! First come, first serve!

I was just browsing my snap-shots from this summer’s festivals when I came across this photo, which was taken at the N.A.M.E. Festival 2012 – big room, big sound, big crowd! I’m sporting HUGO jeans and T-Shirt and dancing to my own beat. That night I played with Ame. In case you don’t know them, check out the Ame Remix of Frank Wiedemann & Ry: Howlin (Frank is one half of Ame). I’m just about to hit replay.
it’s Kasper signing on again after quite some time! A few weeks back, during my trip to London, I had the pleasure of once again spending some time with my cherished colleague and friend, Mr. Trevor Jackson. Trevor is an acclaimed Graphic Designer, DJ and Producer (Playgroup should ring a bell…), who, for more than two decades, did tons of great works with and for everyone and their proverbial momma. I was lucky enough to have him do the cover artwork for my current album “Fool”. Since the good folks at HUGO are also fans of Trevor’s work, we decided to ask him to design a “Fool”-shirt for HUGO. Check out the video to get a glimpse into Trevor’s world and learn how and where he likes to work and why he’s considered one of the coolest dudes around by so many…Enjoy!
PS: Keep your eyes, ears and blogrolls open and make sure to stick around here at the HUGO blog to find out how you can receive your copy of this cool limited shirt!
