Jon Hopkins is truly one of the most respected musicians and composers of his day. Artists from Brian Eno to Coldplay have requested to work with him and he’ll be releasing his forth LP “Immunity” on Domino by the end of this month. The teaser single is called “Open Eye Signal” and is simply a testament of Hopkins’ great production skills. As this is an instant hit, better be quick and get your free download of it right here!

NO BRAINER

[HearDis! 381]

What could be the result of a legendary house producer working with a legendary singer? That’s right, a great track that we simply have to feature on HUGO Tracks! Hamburg’s own Boris Dlugosch really deserves to be labeled as a legend: shaping the deep house sound like few others with his sets at legendary club FRONT in the mid-eighties, Dlugosch went on to become a world renown dj with numerous club hits. Wait a second, didn’t that guy remix Moloko’s “Sing It Back” and worked with their front singer Róisín Murphy on his hit “Never Enough”? That’s true – and he did just that once again! “Look Around You” features another stunning performance by Ms. Murphy and comes with a phenomenal video clip. Guaranteed hit!

COMPLEXITY OF ANGELS

[HearDis! 377]

Keenhouse is the alter ego of LA-based Ken Rangkuty. Rangkuty grew up in Indonesia and Germany, where he enjoyed diverse music training. In 2008, he released his debut album from his new home in Southern California, which was an 8 track-affair entitled “Civic Transit” and truly well-received by the blogosphere. Since Keenhouse understands music as a story, meaning something with a beginning, a middle and an end, it’s not really surprising that his new sophomore LP is a conceptually strong record full of different facets and influences. In order for you guys to be able to peek a bit into Keenhouse’s world, we have “Where I Belong” right here for your streaming-pleasure. Check it out and be inspired!

IN THE ZONE

Did somebody just say free download? Yes, we did! Because this is what you’re in for right here… “In The Zone” is the first single of Airbird & Napolian and it reaches us via Cascine from New York/London. This one is a beautiful, slow-grooving convertible anthem, topped with soothing vocals by Erika Spring. A full length LP by Airbird & Napolian is scheduled for winter, but until then, we’ll be enjoying “In The Zone” numerous times with a glas of chilled lemonade. Get your free download now and open those convertibles, people!

B-BOY HOUSE

[HearDis! 375]

Parisian Producer and Dj Guillaume Berroyer aka ARK celebrates his first release on his hometown label Versatile Records. This release is an EP entitled “Street House EP” and it comes digitally and on vinyl! Our favorite on there is the opener “Emba Anthem”, with its samples from a cult west coast 90′s hip hop band (can anyone guess the name of the band?) – hence, we offer a free stream of the track right here for you guys to check! If you dig it as much as we do, go pick up the vinyl before you do anything else… C’est super!

BRIGHT AND BEAUTIFUL

There is no other color that pops like orange. It’s a signal color screaming: Be happy and enjoy your life! And yes, orange does work for business outfits as well. Especially with black, navy and white – the perfect companions. Start with one orange piece and work your way up to a complete look like the one pictured above and the menswear look below. The looks are all from the HUGO Summer 2013 Collection, which is now available in stores. So let’s try to do things the orange way this summer!

WHAT’S IN A NAME?

[HearDis! 371]

Well, it would be rather easy to assume that we would like the gentleman Hugo Slime simply because of his name. Or the name of this track. But: this one is nothing short of a bomb! Mr. Slime is from the City of London and you can kinda tell by the incredibly clever and funky groove of “Hugo’s Elements”. Topped with a catchy vocal sample, this one is the kind of track DJs around the world will pick to inform their crowd that the party has just started. Make sure to check out more of Hugo’s stuff, because there’s way more where this came from. We put that on our name!

AN UNBEATABLE TEAM

Black and white – an unbeatable fashion team that will never be out of style. My advice: Try an asymmetric take on the classic black-and-white look this season as pictured above. But then again you can also play it safe with a feminine black skirt and a sleeveless white shirt. Black and white – always fashionable and always right!

GENTLE PIANO

[HearDis! 370]

We have some more Audiolith heat coming your way, people! This time it is the rather recently formed Berlin-duo Torsun Teichgräber with their summer beauty “Dr. Sommer”. As the press info suggests, this one is filled with “heartfelt warmth, organic basslines and a whole lotta love”. As this is something that we can hardly ever get enough of, we were sold after the first couple of bars. And the second this lovely piano kicks in, we just can’t help but smile! Be quick and grab your free download of this track, which will not leave your personal playlist all summer! Promise!
