The perennial classic is back! Trench coats are the perfect cover-up for the transition between seasons, especially for rainy days. Do you remember Audrey Hepburn wearing a beige trench coat while kissing George Peppard in the rain in “Breakfast at Tiffany’s”? That’s one of my favorite trench coat movie scenes. So whenever I see trenches I think of romantic rainy days. Naturally, the HUGO Spring 2012 collection features classic trenches for her and for him. I’m definitely gonna get myself a new one one and wear it tied at the waist with the belt that comes with it or a contrasting leather belt. And for now I keep my fingers crossed for some rainy spring days.
Whether you have a bike or not, a classic biker jacket is a must-have in every man’s wardrobe. And no, I’m not referring to those beat-up versions for any modern-day badass. I prefer buttery-soft and non-distressed leather jackets with a classic cut like this one from the HUGO Spring 2012 collection. Time to get some serious attitude!

Top model Sean O’Pry stars in the HUGO Spring 2012 campaign and shows you how to pull off the cutting edge cool James Dean look this season. In a nutshell: Slim cut jackets and shirts, casual V-neck tops and minimalist accessories like leather-lace-ups in white. So cool, so HUGO! And the fact that Sean O’Pry is our campaign model is just the icing on the cake.
Who says that spring has to be all about floral prints and pop colors? As far as the HUGO girl is concerned, geometric prints and cuts will rule out romantic silhouettes and prints this season. “The higher the temperature, the cooler the look”, that’s our mantra. And who could possibly deliver this message better than the über-cool top model Freja Beha Erichsen?!
Have you ever wondered who’s in charge of the runway walks at HUGO BOSS? It’s choreographer Carlo Castro, who has worked with so many famous models that it’s hard to keep track. Watch him explain the different walks, talk about his job, his favorite girls, and about how he started his career as a “translator”. I must admit that I am fascinated by models. Not only are they extremely good-looking and somehow beaming with joy and beauty, but most of them are also friendly, spontaneous and open-minded. At least, this applies to all the models I’ve met so far. So when I ran into top model Mathias Lauridsen and newcomer Josefine Nielsen backstage at the HUGO Fashion Show in Berlin I took the chance to ask them about their job and lifestyle. Luckily our camera team was there to record everything on tape. Hello spontaneity!
