HUGO SPRING 2012 – ODE TO O’PRY!

Top model Sean O’Pry stars in the HUGO Spring 2012 campaign and shows you how to pull off the cutting edge cool James Dean look this season. In a nutshell: Slim cut jackets and shirts, casual V-neck tops and minimalist accessories like leather-lace-ups in white. So cool, so HUGO! And the fact that Sean O’Pry is our campaign model is just the icing on the cake.

HUGO SPRING 2012 – COOL DOWN WITH FREJA

Who says that spring has to be all about floral prints and pop colors? As far as the HUGO girl is concerned, geometric prints and cuts will rule out romantic silhouettes and prints this season. “The higher the temperature, the cooler the look”, that’s our mantra. And who could possibly deliver this message better than the über-cool top model Freja Beha Erichsen?!

BEHIND THE SCENES AT THE HUGO MENSWEAR FITTING

“Ladies first!” – this basic rule also applies to the fitting procedure. So yesterday, one day after the womenswear fitting, we started with the gentlemen. Bart de Backer, Senior Head of Creative Management HUGO Menswear, and stylist Kim Grenaa decided on the menswear looks for the HUGO Fashion Show Fall/Winter 2012. From the pictures you can guess that the soft tobacco color will play a major role in the collection… but it’s only a guess and we won’t know for sure until the HUGO Fashion Show starts and the Fall/Winter looks for 2012 are shown on the runway. So be sure to watch the live stream of the show and keep an eye out for our two fitting models William Eustace and Oliver Greb as they will also be walking the show!

HUGO WOMENSWEAR FITTING

Yesterday, all creative minds of the HUGO brand met up in the HUGO Showroom for the HUGO Womenswear fitting for the upcoming HUGO Fashion Show. Of course, I sneaked in to shoot some behind the scenes photos for you guys (you can see more on instagram and twitter). Everything went smoothly and Eyan Allen, Creative and Brand Director Womenswear, and stylist /HUGO Blog editor Kim Grenaa were happy with every single look. Eyan even took out his sketchbook and quickly designed a skirt to replace one look’s trousers on the spur of a moment. Kim and Eyan will also be giving interviews before the show, so be sure to watch the live stream here on the HUGO Blog starting at 01:30 p.m. (CET) on January 19, 2012.

Everybody, who entered the HUGO Showroom yesterday instantly fell in love with the new HUGO collection for Fall/Winter 2012 and on January 19, 2012, you’ll see for yourself! But for now, take a look behind the scenes:

FIRST LOOK – SEAN O’PRY FOR HUGO SPRING 2012

No wonder Sean O’Pry, the male star of the HUGO Spring 2012 campaign, is one of the most successful male models of the moment. He is beautiful and very talented. I met him at the HUGO fitting and backstage at the HUGO Fashion Show in July and ladies, hold your breath, he’s also likeable, relaxed and witty. That’s exactly what makes him the perfect ambassador for the HUGO brand this season.

FIRST LOOK – FREJA BEHA ERICHSEN FOR HUGO SPRING 2012

Freja Beha Erichsen, one of the most in-demand models du jour, is the star of the HUGO Spring 2012 campaign. The Danish model has appeared on countless magazine covers such as VOGUE, Harper’s Bazaar and Glamour Magazine to name only a few. Plus, Freja is seriously one of the coolest models I’ve ever met and therefore the perfect girl to present the reduced and avant-garde HUGO Spring 2012 collection.

OPERA PASSION

I love the colour red. It signifies true passion and it’s everywhere in the collections these days. And oh… it also happens to be HUGO’s signature colour, of course! Increasingly, I see fashion trends moving into the interiors sphere, and that is exactly what has happened at the 136-year-old Opera de Paris Garnier in the city of lights. The great architect Odile Decq has transformed part of the old theatre into a huge futuristic-inspired restaurant with organic shapes, lots of glass and more red than I’ve seen in one place for a long time. Is this an ode to HUGO-ism…? I don’t really have a passion for opera, but I have a passion for red and surely you don’t have to be an opera lover to go to this amazing restaurant.
