What an amazing experience it was to be in a VOGUE photoshoot! The magazine asked us to pose in HUGO for a spread in the October edition of L’Uomo Vogue, so we trucked down to the studio to do our finest threads behind the camera. Luckily HUGO brought along its camera crew to film this little documentary. A great reminder of the day for us, and a nice little peak behind the scenes for you. Enjoy!
Hey everybody. Little Dragon here with an update. We had to cancel our European tour a few weeks back, because Fred, our bass player, got sick, and the doctors told him to get some rest. But now there’s great news! Fred’s feeling much better, and we were able to reschedule almost all of our shows! We’re really looking forward to seeing you out. We really missed you!

Noah And The Whale are an English neo-folk band whose name is inspired by the film The Squid and the Whale. Yuksek is a French electronic music producer from the Kitsune crew. Together, they’ve made an anthem for the end of the night. Yuksek’s version of “Life Is Life” is a 100% feel good track.
And now… drum roll, please! It’s the grand finale of our get-to-know-us-via-top-five-lists-of-totally-random-stuff feature. Over the past week-and-a-half, we’ve been presenting videos of us talking about our favorite songs, favorite bands, favorite places to travel and all kinds of other stuff. So far we’ve heard from Josh, Aaron and Ben, and today we’re presenting Daniel, who plays keyboards for us. (Spoiler alert: his all-time favorite artists to work with are Josh, Aaron and Ben.) Data MC is a Berlin-based group making a blend of contemporary hip-hop and dance music. We’ve featured them here on HUGO Tracks a couple times before. This remix by Bullmeister, though, has turned the Data MC sound on its head. The original track is a clomping, low-tempo story about a girl. Bullmeister has stripped out the vocals and frothed it into a chugging deep house track. Completely different but still wonderful.
On our quest to tell you more about ourselves, we’ve presented bunches of top five lists from the Miami Horror bassist and drummer, Aaron and Ben. Today we’re presenting Josh, whose favorite song of all time is called, “da-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na.” Josh sings and plays the guitar.
RKC began as a solo side-project for Babyshambles’ songwriter Adam Ficek. After leaving Babyshambles and Pete Doherty behind, though, he was able to fully focus on the project, which should come as wonderful news for any lover of music: RKC blows Babyshambles away. This new song, “Kittens Become Cats,” is nearly flawless – slinky, programmed drums and raw but sparse guitars are hinged around pitter-pattering vocals. And that’s just the verse. Zimmer is a producer that grew up between France and California, and his music is a perfect combination of both places’ spirits: one half Parisian class and the other California sunshine. On “Slave To Your Heart”, Zimmer’s teamed up with an excellent vocalist named Jeremy Glenn, who adds an Azari & III feeling to the mix.

Orthy is the nom de plume of Ian Orth, a young man from Austin, who makes dreamy, Beach Boys-inspired music. Sueños is the lead track from his debut EP, which just came out on the New York-based label, Wurst.
