They come from mainland China, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau, and are pushing the boundaries of international art in Asia. The seven finalists of the inaugural HUGO BOSS ASIA ART Award, to be presented in October in Shanghai, have been chosen. They are all part of a promising young generation of artists who grew up amidst rapid economic, political and cultural upheaval in China. With the HUGO BOSS PRIZE, HUGO BOSS in cooperation with the Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation, has long been active in the international contemporary art scene.
