Since our beloved readers couldn’t be present physically, we’ll have some great footage headed your way in the days to come: Nina Kraviz and Kasper Bjørke will take you to exhibits, restaurants, partys, interviews, the HUGO Fashion Show and so on and so on… Check this little preview teaser and make sure to tune back in for their Berlin adventures!

HUGO ARTISTS SHOOTING PARIS

[YouTube G68e7jx0VPQ]

As our beloved HUGO Artists Nina and Kasper already mentioned in their introductions, we had a fantastic photo shoot with them in Paris a couple of days back. Despite that day’s tight schedule for our 2 busy bees, the mood was joyous throughout the day and we think that the pictures turned out pretty, pretty good! And for all of our dear friends here on the blog who couldn’t be present, we shot a little video recap of the day. But hey, where just getting started here, so make sure to check back frequently for more Nina and Kasper!

HUGO TRACKS PODCAST #15

[HearDis! 202]

Hard to believe it, but this month’s podcast is our fifteenth. We feel like we should be getting birthday cake or something… We’ll happily settle for good music instead, though. This month, we’ve got james from Night Works, Bear In Heaven, Yacht, Ditt Inre, and a whole bunch of other great music makers. You can stream it right here, or you can download the podcast by following this link.

NIGHT WORKS DOESN’T NEED TO TRY TOO HARD

[HearDis! 191]

No one knows very much about Night Works, but the mystery is okay with us. Sometimes it’s nice to let the music just speak for itself. And if we’re to imagine what the members of Night Works are all about based on this song, “I Tried So Hard,” we’d guess they’re sensitive, quick witted and stylish. The music is full of grace and beauty, and it says everything it needs to in less than ten words and less than three minutes.

NOTHING TO BE ANGRY ABOUT

[HearDis! 189]

We looooooove this one from Human Don’t Be Angry. The song is called “1985,” and while it’s certainly got a throwback sound palette worthy of the track title, the Miaoux Miaoux remix is absolutely perfect for today’s dancefloor. Think of the most triumphant, blissed out moment in a three-hour Todd Terje set. And then you’ve got it… We’re happy to be offering it up for free download. Take note, DJs. This one will kill ‘em.

PELIFICS: HE WAS THE BEST

[HearDis! 187]

This one from Pelifics featuring AXXE almost reminds us of St. Vincent, with those breathy, almost pained (but still sweet) vocals. The music isn’t anything like the Saint’s, though. The instrumentation for “He Was The Best” is right out of an 80s film soundtrack, from the heavily reverberated drum machines to the distant guitar solo. It all comes together to make a track that sounds relevant but classic. Give it a spin, and hear for yourself.

FREE BEAR IN HEAVEN

[HearDis! 188]

We’ve had Bear In Heaven‘s most recent album, I Love You, It’s Cool, stuck on our record player since it came out at the beginning of April, in quite the same way that we had their last release Beast Rest Forth Mouth stuck on our record player for about three months after it came out. “Cool Light” is representative of I Love You‘s melding of dreamy soundscapes and driving yet subdued beats, a perfect update on their already wonderful sound. We’re psyched to present it here as a free download so that you can get it stuck on your iPod.
