GET THE LOOK

Time for fashion fall, ladies! Cool down this season with the reduced and minimalistic HUGO fall 2012 collection. Probably the best colors for this fall: Firey red combined with innocent gray and bright blue – all play a major role. Vibrant yet cool and therefore typical for the avantgarde HUGO brand! My new perfect cover-up for this season’s cold fall days: this  streamlined coat in electric blue. PS. the current HUGO collection is now available in stores and online.

CURRY UP!

Now that’s a color that defines a style! And what would life be without colors? It would surely be a bit more sad and boring. So: Color up your life, men! Curry is one color revolution of the season. A color that we will not just find in shirts or jackets! Looks like HUGO menswear designer Bart de Backer has done an ode to curry for HUGO Fall 2012.

WORKWEAR

Even though I admire eccentric and fashion-forward runway looks and street styles, at the office I prefer wearing down-to-earth pieces whispering “fashion trend” rather than screaming it. Bet you know what I mean… so here’s an example of a perfect business dress from the HUGO Fall 2012 collection: Sophisticated, interesting, trendy, long-sleeved and knee-length. No wonder it’s already hanging in my wardrobe.

PS: For after-work drinks I will add some bling-bling statement jewellery to turn it into a piece of fashion art.

LADY IN BLACK – AND RED

Black and red are the two most seductive colors. So let’s mix them and dress up in a feminine red and black geometric print dress or a powerful black and red pantsuit. Classy yet alluring – I love this combination and I’m more than happy that HUGO womenswear designer Eyan Allen has designed these two amazing looks for the HUGO Fall 2012 collection. To a ladylike fall!

INDIAN SUMMER ORANGE

When the leaves are starting to fall… oh wait. Fall is not here yet, but the HUGO Fall 2012 looks are. And I’ve spotted the most amazing color: A bright Indian Summer Orange. Perfect for a vanishing summer tan. I’m especially craving the first look’s blazer. It would look fabulous with a white shirt and a pair of skinny jeans, don’t you think?! I’m also a big fan of short sleeved turtlenecks – they’re perfect for the office and this orange one will definitely spice up any look.

MELLOW YELLOW

Music-wise, a Donovan song from the 60s does not belong here on the HUGO Blog at all – and I guess the HUGO Tracks boys agree with me one hundred per cent. But fashion-wise, I am really digging the colorful 60s. And I just wanted to share these looks from the HUGO Fall 2012 collection with you to show you that a splash of yellow can truly work miracles. Especially during the fall/winter season which is usually dominated by dark colors. So let’s save some shafts of sunlight for fall, shall we?!

CHECKED

Check out checked shirts this fall. And no, I don’t mean the comfy lumberjack shirts you guys love to wear with destroyed jeans on the weekend, but perfectly tailored shirts with decent checked prints. They instantly spice up any business suit and they also work with jeans, of course. Get some inspiration from the HUGO looks for fall 2012!

PS: For an advanced styling go for a checked coat – oh so very preppy!

OF BAGS AND MEN

Females consider bags an essential accessory. However, with men it’s a complete different story. There are men who wouldn’t be seen dead carrying a handbag and then there are men who go with the fashion movement sporting the latest designer bags. I am clearly more into the latter. Why? First of all, keys, mobile phone and wallet simply don’t fit into a skinny pants’ pockets – and I’m a huge fan of skinnier-fit clothing, especially of the HUGO menswear collection, of course. Secondly, as much as I love oversized bags, I’m getting tired of carrying my boyfriend’s belongings. And last but not least, bags simply are a useful idea. So it’s time to emancipate, guys. Meaning? Get you own stylish-yet-casual bag like this one from the new HUGO Fall 2012 collection.

LEOPARD PRINT

I love leopard prints. Always have and always will. And now that I have laid eyes on the new HUGO Fall 2012 collection’s orange leopard print I’m desperately craving for some new leopard statement pieces. So far I’ve spotted the print on a blouse, a dress and a scarf, which are all now in stores. So this summer I’m going to pass on the summer sale and move right on to the new fall pieces!
