STRICTLY JAZ BOO

[HearDis! 403]

We’ll say it right out the gate: Chicago’s own Mr. Boo Williams is nothing short of a legend! He started making music as early as 1987 and is still as relevant as ever! He was just recently playing gigs in Europe and bedazzled his crowd in numerous cities with his timeless House sounds (he also recorded a fantastic set at Boiler Room Berlin which is not to be missed!). Timeless is really the keyword for this man, since many of his records that are 20 years and older can still crush a dancefloor these days… Boo’s classic track “Crying Black Man” is now being re-released on Noble Square and it’s sounding fresher as ever. We have a free download of the flipside “Changes” waiting right here for you! It is simply magical so don’t wait any longer!

DEEP DEMON

[HearDis! 402]

Another beauty from Down Under! Andras Fox is a young Producer and DJ from Melbourne who, according to himself, likes wood panelling and drum machines. Despite his young age, his productions are bursting with a warmth and depth that leave the listener stunned. His newest coup is an album on Dopeness Galore featuring Oscar S. Thorn, which is entitled “Embassy Café” and is an absolute gem! We have the track “What They Say” right here for your streaming-pleasure and it has that beautiful Chicago deepness we usually hear from veterans such as Tevo Howard. This one is a winner on all levels!

TROPICAL REVENGE

[HearDis! 401]

Musically, it has been nothing but net for Australia in the past couple of years! Be it bands, producers, acts, labels etc. – there has really been a huge load of quality music coming our way from down under. Sydney’s aspiring producer KLP is no exception and his debut EP on Chookie (run by DCUP) entitled “Revolution” made a lot of mouthes water across the globe. Graeme Clark aka The Revenge is from the UK, but the “nothing but net” – expression fits his output just as much! He releases fantastic tracks and remixes under numerous monikers and in various constellations and if you see one of his releases at your local record store, you can pick that puppy up without a care in the world. The Revenge’s dub of “Tropical” should give you an idea what all this raving has been about…

EN ROUTE

[HearDis! 397]

What a beauty! Pedestrian‘s “Hoyle Road” was the talk of the web after James Zabiela finished his set at Boiler Room with it. And why wouldn’ people go crazy? A slow-building heartbreaker topped with a warm timbre that makes you think of James Blake and SBSTRKT. Be quick and grab your free download of this gem from the UK right here – it’s gonna chase you in your sweetest dreams, that’s for sure!

Dam Mantle and the duo Silk Cut are both from Glasgow and they team up under the moniker Lovers’ Rights to release some pretty, pretty propper house cuts. MAKE LOVE IN PUBLIC SPACES

[HearDis! 394]

Detroit’s prodigy Jimmy Edgar always gives us the impression that there is no prospect of an end to his creative potential. Especially, when he teams up with a an artist-to-watch like London’s Citizen. And when this merger takes place on a confidently stylish imprint such as Love Fever, the outcome can only be ace: a clean and bubbly house-joint, topped with some – if we’re not mistaken – vocal flakes by the late Aaliyah. Check check check it!

James Mathé is a London based musician and singer. He has already been a part of Jose Gonzales’ live band and has also released his own music under his Barbarossa moniker via the Fence Collective. Now he has a new single coming out on 7inch-vinyl on the always classy Memphis Industries imprint. “The Load” is one of those tracks that immediately get stuck in your head without ever being too trivial and is the best teaser for an upcoming album of his we can think of…Pure beauty!

LONG LOST SOULS

[HearDis! 387]

Anthony Godwin is an aspiring producer from Toulouse, France. According to himself, the style of his music is “melodic Techno and Neotrance”. Though the description of his sound is probably meant rather ironic, it is also quite fitting somehow! “Âme Perdu”, which is French for “Lost Soul”, may be a self-diagnosis on the one hand, but it surely also is a phenomenally beautiful electronic romance on the other. Still waters run deep – so dive in!
