Summer has officially arrived – in stores. The summer collections are out now and I don’t know about you, but I am craving colorful summer pieces right now. So let me take you behind the seams at the shooting for our HUGO Summer 2013 lookbook to get into the right mood. Bright orange and popping yellow will certainly do the job!
Dauwd is back! The British producer graces us with a new EP on legendary Ghostly International. Conversantly, yet futuristic – playful, yet straightforward: This EP offers everything fans of Electronic Music could ask for… You can still somehow sense Dauwd’s UK Sound roots, although this is born from a wealth of house and techno influences. We have the title track “Heat Division” as a free download right here – so better be quick and dive in!
The HUGO twitter pieces are selling out fast, so hurry if you want to get your hands on them. I’m loving the blouse and slim-cut cigarette pants and right now I am debating to get the lightweight summer scarf as well. The cute bird print is such a great way to freshen up your spring wardrobe. Plus the highly coveted pieces come in the two pastel colors of the moment – mint and candy pink. Perfection!
In today’s complex and confusing world, you can feel the growing need for reliability. We got some reliability coming your way right here: Just as you’d expect from a release by trusted Norwegian Disco icon Prins Thomas on trusted Norwegian label Smalltown Supersound, this puppy lives right up to the expectations it provokes. Prins Thomas’ remix of Carmen Villain’s “Lifeissin” is nothing short of a charming psychedelic skyride, that just leaves one happy and content. As they say: “People will let you down – music won’t!”.
Even though the lovely Nina Kraviz won’t be posting on the HUGO Blog anymore and has already posted a sweet “Goodbye”, she will stay with us. How? The beautiful singer, producer and DJ is the face of our current HUGO Deep Red Fragrance campaign. Nina is such a good fit for the HUGO brand – a strong and independent woman with a mind of her own. But no more words from me, let’s get inspired by a quote from Nina herself: ”I am just doing what I am doing and what I feel. I have never been afraid of mistakes. If you do make a mistake, just get up and go on!”
Yes, that’s the way HUGO women do it.
Mexico’s own Buvette graces us with a new 7″- single on Zürich’s Hula Honeys imprint. And boy, what a beauty this is! Especially if it’s enjoyed alongside the incredible video by French director Simon Wannaz. This one can totally ride without the training wheels of a written introduction – so just hit play to get away from it all for a couple of minutes… Sublime!
I just wanted to write down a little résumé of the last couple of months I’ve spent with HUGO. I had sooo much fun sharing some precious moments and cool little goodies with you guys, be it on the HUGO BOSS Youtube Channel, the HUGO BOSS Instagram or this very blog. Thanks so much for following me here! Just wanted to let all of you know, that I won’t be posting on here as frequently as I used to do, but you’ll surely still be seing me around. How so? Well, to find out, you’ll simply have to keep checking the blog for news! Thanks again!
Meet Maxmillion Dunbar aka Max D. This guy runs the incredible Future Times Label straight out of D.C. and is also one half of the always amazing duo Beautiful Swimmers. Be it with his DJ sets, his productions ranging from classic House to Ambient, or the releases he curates on his label – he’s just an inexhaustible source of inspiration to any music enthusiast. So we’re psyched he releases a new LP these days on RVNG Intl. entitled “House Of Woo”, which is inspired by his relationship to his girlfriend. Now, given this approach, could the result be anything else than a beautiful record with multiple facets? Of course not, so here’s a little teaser for you guys: The Nod Mix of “The Figurine” as a free download! We’re not the biggest fans of empty phrases here, but well: Sometimes, the best things in life are free!
