THE HUGO BOSS PRIZE
"The HUGO BOSS PRIZE" has established itself as a significant forum for recognizing achievement in contemporary art. The prize, which carries an award of $ 100,000, was brought into being in 1996 and will be awarded for the seventh time in 2008. It is administered by the Guggenheim Foundation and there are no restrictions in terms of age, gender, nationality and art form. Innovation and creativity are the deciding criteria in the awarding of the prize, which is decided by an international jury, made up of museum curators, critics and collectors. Matthew Barney, Douglas Gordon, Marjetica Potrc, Pierre Huyghe, Rirkrit Tiravanija and the artist Tacita Dean have won the prize in previous years.
