HELLO FROM BERLIN!

As you might know, I just arrived in beautiful Berlin today. There’s still a lot of preparations to be done for the HUGO Fashion Show. However I couldn’t resist visiting my favourite HUGO store in Berlin – Mitte quickly.  That’s where I met up with some of the coolest blogger around the globe for a little fashion chat while they picked their outfit for the HUGO Fashion Show tomorrow.

Cindy totally fell in love with a gorgeous big black HUGO bag which is gonna be her favourite now. Gala likes HUGO for its cool tailoring. And she also made the quote of the day: “HUGO rocks Berlin because it’s a great city with a lot of great colors which fits HUGO perfectly”! Do you wanna know what Kristina picked as a outfit for the show? Or which colour Pelayo is going for? Follow me on twitter and instagram to get the latest news and insights about the HUGO Fashion Show Fall 2013 in Berlin! And don’t forget – I am happy to answer all of your questions about the models, the show, the blogger etc. – just keep tweeting them with #HUGO.

THE MEN BEHIND HUGO

Today is the day before the HUGO Fashion Show. So it’s high time to properly introduce the two men behind the HUGO brand – meet HUGO designers Eyan Allen and Bart de Backer.

HUGO womenswear designer Eyan Allen is a real Englishman. At least at first sight. He was born in Leeds on June 29, 1971 and studied Fashion & Textile Design at the University of Central Lancashire and Menswear Fashion at the Royal College of Art in London. However, he started his career as a designer in Germany. In 2007 Eyan joined HUGO BOSS and has worked for the HUGO brand ever since. His favorite city in the world is New York and he tries to spend as much time at his NY home as possible. At our first encounter I was very impressed by this international man – Eyan is full of inspiration, always open to new ideas and he knows exactly what women want. When it comes to dresses, slim cut trousers and blazers Eyan simply knows best!

Bart de Backer is in charge of all the HUGO menswear designs. He was born in Belgium on August 5, 1976 and studied Fashion Design at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp. After working for various designers in Belgium and the Netherlands, Bart joined HUGO BOSS in 2008. I love Bart’s rather quiet personality and his understated designs. And I am very proud that I could convince Bart to open up his own twitter account. Just like Eyan he is always open for new ideas and looking for new inspirations – and that is exactly why the two of them make such a great team.

BEHIND THE SEAMS AT THE HUGO WOMENSWEAR FITTING

As promised, I took you “behind the seams” yesterday on twitter and instagram joining HUGO Womenswear designer Eyan Allen and stylist Tom van Dorpe for the womenswear fitting for the upcoming HUGO Fashion Show. This time, we had booked two amazing girls – Manon Leloup and Dajana Antic - who were not only very professional and extremely beautiful, but also funny and very charming. Especially Dajana, who never got tired of striking a pose for the camera. Now I can’t wait to see both ladies strolling down the runway in Berlin on Thursday in the HUGO Fall 2013 looks. Speaking of, the show looks are beyond amazing – especially one purple floor-length dress made me gasp. But you will see for yourself, so be sure to tune in to the live stream of the HUGO Fashion Show Fall 2013 on Thursday at 08:30 pm CET here on the HUGO Blog.
And now you will get another chance to follow me live “behind the seams” – join me today at the menswear fitting with HUGO menswear designer Bart de Backer on twitter and instagram. And don’t forget – I am happy to answer all of your questions about the fitting, the show, the models etc. – just keep tweeting them with #HUGO.

Dear HUGO blog readers, dear tweethearts and dear fashion enthusiasts,

this is YOUR chance to find out all about the HUGO Fashion Show - tweet me your questions about the show on twitter and mark them with #HUGO. I will act as your personal on-site reporter at the HUGO Fashion Show Fall 2013 in Berlin on Thursday, January 17, 2013, taking you closer to the event than ever before. You can basically ask me anything about the event – from “What is HUGO Womenswear designer Eyan Allen’s favorite color for Fall 2013?” to “What are the models having for lunch and dinner on the day of the fashion show?”. I will try to answer all your questions during my very first Miss HUGO BOSS behind-the-scenes live stream starting on Thursday at 08:30 pm CET here on the HUGO Blog. I have to admit that I am pretty nervous – but also very excited.

I am looking forward to hearing from you on twitter.

INTERCONTINENTAL FOOTWORK

[HearDis! 293]

For this intercontinental dance fest Australia’s Japan Aircraft team up with the American producer Romeo’s Fault to rework his first single “Goose Bumps”. Released on Continous Cool this pop infused disco groover is just the perfect track to keep you in party mood during the last day of the weekend.

STALLION ON THE DANCEFLOOR

[HearDis! 291]

For the second half of 2012 there was only one “Stallion On The Dancefloor”, a Korean guy called Psy. For 2013 the tiger-suited, cowboy-hatted Briton I, Tay Stayness decided to claim the crown for himself. His disco-funk influenced song might not be as blatantly catchy, but it is equally funny.

BASEMENT LOVE

[HearDis! 289]

The Parisian duo Bot’Ox never was one for the fast paced dance tracks and always preferred the more “krauty” sound instead. But this ultra-slow new track by Cosmo Vitelli and Julien Briffaz came as a surprise none the less: it plays more like the intro to one of Luc Besson’s early films and not at all like a pop or even dance tune. A great move from the two Frenchmen and an essential download to get you into the mood for the upcoming album Sans Dormir!

SUMMER’S REVIVAL

[HearDis! 290]

What else to expect from the cheeky Portland duo YACHT than to release a summer tune in the middle of winter? Well, actually quite a lot, since this bands never seizes to surprise. But as for now this summer song, describing the state of mind of total freedom during a second summer (or something like that), shall be enough.
