INTRODUCING JARED LETO FOR HUGO JUST DIFFERENT

Those of you, who follow my updates on twitter, might have already heard the big news: Jared Leto, the handsome actor and lead singer of the band “Thirty Seconds to Mars” is the face of the campaign for the new HUGO Just Different fragrance. I think it is quite obvious why we picked him for this job – he is “just different”!

If you haven’t seen the commercial yet, make sure you watch it now. It is definitely a must-see! And if you can’t get enough of Jared and HUGO Just Different, follow me on twitter for the latest news and updates. I will keep you in the loop!

HUGO TRACKS: THAT’S ME

Hey there. It’s been a couple weeks since I started posting on the new HUGO Blog (isn’t it pretty?), and I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself. I’m the gent that digs up all the musical goodies for HUGO Tracks, which is our musical wing over here at HUGO.

I’m a fanatic for classic New Wave, Electro, New York Disco and Chicago House; and I’m really into the new artists that reference those styles and update them for the future, folks like Azari & III, Tensnake, Todd Terje and, of course, Little Dragon, who recently joined the HUGO family as HUGO Artists. (They’ve been posting here on the blog as well.)

You can always catch me here, but if you wanna keep in touch directly, you can follow me on Twitter. I update at least once a day with a new video, DJ Mix, interview, concert or some other piece of info I’ve found in my constant digging. And for a monthly run-down of all the HUGO Tracks there’s also our Podcast (it’s hosted by Soundclod).

That’s about all for now… but before I sign off, here’s my number one HUGO Track of all time, an absolutely unshakable house tune by the heroes of the 1990s dance music revival Azari & III – remixed by their Permanent Vacation buddy Tensnake. Instant Classic…

HEADMAN DOES JAPAN: ADOLESCENT SEX

Oh my! It’s quite a song title theme from Swiss producer Headman, a longtime favorite for us here at HUGO Tracks. Adolescent Sex is a cover, the original song written and performed by the the British glam rock/new romantic group Japan. The song was the namesake of their first album, which was changed simply to ‘Japan’ in many countries where censors thought the original name was too risque.

Naughty or not, the sound is right up our alley.
