12 Hours in Paris

A spontaneous trip to France's pulsing metropolis is always worth the journey. The city of a thousand clichés, haute couture and nouvelle cuisine is simply magnificent with its cozy cafés, inspirational gallery concepts, modern architecture and unique design boutiques, all tucked well-away from the popular tourist trail.

Where to stay & start your day - 9.30 am
The French and breakfast aren't really that compatible and breakfast is often nothing more than a quick coffee and a croissant on the run. Those wanting a gentler start to their day should savor an espresso in their hotel, perhaps in the elegant winter garden of Le Royal Monceau, one of the cities two luxury residences. The hotel, a blend of art and culture and previous host to such celebrities as Ernest Hemingway or Josephine Baker, was extensively renovated under the direction of star designer Philippe Starck.

Art & Culture - 11 am
As of May last year, the gallery scene in the French capital has become deservedly richer. Centrally located on Rue Charlot in Paris’ fashionable Marais district, Galerie BSL is a confident, stylistically curated design-universe of contemporary art, design and architecture. A selection of one-off and limited-edition designs and valuable art-pieces of jewelry, fashion, furniture and lighting characterize the exclusive atmosphere of this new hotspot.

Charming Cafés - 1 pm
Be it a short break or savoir-vivre, a quick espresso, an aperitif or warm goats cheese on toasted bread - Café de Flore on Boulevard Saint Germain is one of the best "very French like" bistros in the city. Once the favorite café of the Parisian avant-garde, de Flore is now a much-loved meeting place for many artists, stars and designers and the ideal location for a spot of people watching. Paris without its stylish cafés…simply unthinkable!

Inspirational Shopping Trip  - 2 pm
After so much culture a well-deserved shopping trip is just the ticket, and especially when you happen to be in Paris. Opening soon and sharing the neighborhood with trend stores such as Colette; the first international offshoot from Moscow concept store Podium.
Searching for the perfect evening outfit? Be it timeless classic or modern luxury - the perfect place to find the perfect outfit in this pulsing metropolis is at one of the Parisian BOSS Stores.

Exciting Dinner Places - 8 pm
Move over Moulin Rouge and Pigalle, the latest bar-restaurants offer fine dining and drinks and are a distinguished way to end the day.
L’Arc
is more than just dinner and drinks. This stylish conglomerate of restaurant, bar and nightclub has quickly evolved to become the cities latest "in" location. Enjoy an aperitif at the bar and dinner in the restaurant before heading down to the basement. Here, in the house-owned club, the whole of Paris can be found dancing the night away under vibrant colorful neons, complete with huge leather sofas and cool drinks.
The last drink of the day always tastes best here: re-interpreted by designer Philippe Starck only a few years ago, Bar 228 situated in the palatial French hotel Le Meurice offers the perfect opportunity to relax in elegant surroundings with a good wine or an eclectic cocktail such as "The Starcky".
