FEMININESILHOUETTES

Abstract forms, experimental design and a dash of surrealism all featured in the shoot for the new line of BOSS Womenswear in New York.

Long live Surrealism! The new BOSS Womenswear campaign for Spring/Summer 2014 was shot at New York’s famed Pier59 Studios against an abstract background of curved geometrics. Light, shadow and subtle colorplay shaped the intriguing backdrop used to stage the both luxurious and extravagant looks. In harmony with the setting, the collection itself was inspired by Surrealism. The surprises lurked in the details: prints that look like photographs but are actually artful drawings. An elegant evening gown that appears strapless thanks to transparent inserts. Stark black & white contrasts and broad block stripes underscore the clean silhouette, while sporty elements such as elastic cuffs on the silk trousers transcend the genre confinements of classic eveningwear.

Photographer Tom Munro – a virtuoso in light and shadow compositions – showcased the collection with model Kati Nescher, who was also able to air her acting skills in the current campaign video.
