With its dynamic skyline of dramatic contrasts, the British capital is a city close to MERCEDES AMG PETRONAS driver Lewis Hamilton’s heart. Lewis is joined by David Coulthard as they explore some of his favorite haunts.
1. Small plates
In the heart of buzzing Soho, Polpetto is among London’s hottest restaurants. Lewis and David try their hand at cooking the Italian-inspired small plates, such as Westcombe ricotta and egg yolk ravioli, for which the venue is known, as well as chatting to head chef, Florence Knight, the woman responsible for its remarkable success.
“It’s a really popular restaurant, but it’s also really down to earth,” says Lewis. “I come here for a chilled night out and great food.”
2. Fresh perspective
South of the river, Lewis takes David to the top of the Shard, the EU’s tallest skyscraper and London’s iconic new landmark. It’s impressive enough from ground level, but the views from the level 69 triple-level gallery and open-air sky deck are unsurpassed.
“From up here, you can see the landmarks of the city from a totally different perspective,” says Lewis.
3. Modern tailoring
Outfitted in the new BOSS for Mercedes-Benz collection (available from July in store and from August online), Lewis takes a trip to the HUGO BOSS store on trendy Sloane Square. Lewis changes into a custom-made suit from BOSS Made to Measure, which he wears for a Q&A event with his fans and selected guests later in the evening.
“A suit from BOSS Made to Measure is just what I need for an evening event away from the race track,” says Lewis. “I love the custom cut and their thoughtful, personal service.”
