CHILLAXE

I love the holidays. Finally there is time to chill and relax, be with family and friends, watch movies and read some good books. On top of that I always use the quiet time to make plans for my spring wardrobe. Yes, I am a planner. Guess it comes with my job. Naturally, I like to keep an eye out for new trends and styles before the collections hit the stores. So as soon as all the shiny new items are available I know exactly what I need – and want.

I always start by cleaning out my closet to make room for new pieces. Secondly, I browse all the inspirations I collected during the past months – my boards on pinterest, pages from fashion magazines, screenshots, instagram shots on my phone and so on. And then I finally start writing down all my wishes from the new spring collections. That’s the best part, of course.

I haven’t started the process yet, but here’s a piece that’s currently on my mind: A dress with silver details from the brand new HUGO Spring 2013 collection. Love it! And you?

GERMAN GEMÜTLICHKEIT

There’s nothing better than spending the holidays at home with delicious food and a crackling fire in the fireplace. I love the so called „German Gemütlichkeit“! Of course, I also swap my high heels for a pair of comfy slippers and put on one of my boyfriend’s comfy hoodies. He’s got quite a collection I can choose from. But still I am thinking about getting him a new one for the holidays from the HUGO Spring 2013 Menswear Collection. I love the cut of this one and grey is one of my favorite comfy colors. So maybe I’ll treat my boyfriend (and myself) to a last minute present…

SPORTY WHITE

One of the most popular New Year’s resolutions is to do more sports. This one usually doesn’t make it any further than February. So how about opting for a more sporty style instead? Here’s some inspiration from the HUGO Spring 2013 collection, which is now in stores. So let’s get ready for 2013, shall we?!?

GET THE LOOK – JESSICA JOFFE

Red hair, a porcelain complexion and an enviable sense of style – those are the trademarks of Jessica Joffe. Born in Hamburg as the daughter of “Die Zeit” publisher Josef Joffe, Jessica is one of my favorite German style icons. The model, actress and journalist is currently residing in Santa Monica, Los Angeles, and commuting to Munich on a regular basis. Despite living in the glamourous US Jessica has remained loyal to her minimalist and clean style and her German roots. Naturally, Jessica loves all the HUGO collections and is a regular at our HUGO Fashion Shows in Berlin. For her red carpet appearance at the HUGO Fashion Show Spring/Summer 2013 back in July she picked this minimalist and arty blouse from the HUGO Spring 2013 collection. The spring 2013 collections are starting to hit the stores right now so watch out if you want to get Jessica’s look!

SIMPLICITY

HUGO stands for simplicity, for minimalist and clean looks. However, HUGO designers Eyan Allen and Bart de Backer love to play with cuts, details, materials and colors. This spring, HUGO menswear designer Bart de Backer refreshes white and navy blue with a surprising touch of light blue while HUGO womenswear designer Eyan Allen is in the mood for popping stripes. If you are longing for spring as much as I do be sure to browse the full new HUGO Spring 2013 collection here on the website.

BACK TO BLACK

Whenever I am about to purchase a new bag I am contemplating lots of different colors. During the past few seasons I was close to getting a neon pink satchel, a bright red box bag and a mint green city bag. But I didn’t. And you know why? When it comes to bags I like to play it safe and tend to go for the timeless black or brown version. However, owning a closet full of black and brown bags I always need to work out new excuses why I still need a new bag each season. This HUGO bag from the Spring 2013 collection is currently on my wish list and I also have the perfect excuse to get it: The shape – clearly inspired from the 60s – and size – not too big and not too small. So don’t you dare argue with a bagaholic!

MR. BROWN

Five shades of brown combined in one look. So retro yet very up-to-date. That’s what I love about the HUGO collections – they are always surprising and fresh without being in-your-face. So what do you think of this look from the HUGO Spring 2013 campaign? Let me know on twitter.

KARMEN PEDARU FOR HUGO SPRING 2013

This season, Estonian model Karmen Pedaru stars in our HUGO Spring 2013 campaign. Her sporty and sexy look fits perfectly to the futuristic and Pop Art inspired designs. Before Karmen’s career took off, she was successfully playing soccer, basketball and handball. By now the 22-year-old is a pro on the runway and in front of the camera airing sportiness and elegance. And that mint green HUGO dress with silver leather details Karmen is sporting in this campaign picture is definitely a winner!
