DARK BULL IN BRIGHT LIGHT
[HearDis! 303]
Bq:Ram are two Italian DJs and Producers who make no bones about their eclectic background, which ranges from Hip Hop to House and sets the course for their versatile and tasteful output. Having composed a remix for the OST of the Cannes Grand Prix awarded “Reality” (by M.Garrone, world renown director of “Gomorrah”) last year, they’re now about to release their new LP, flaunting just that creative versatility and quality that made us sit up and take notice. Stream “Dark Bull” right here to enjoy one of their meticulous, yet animating productions and watch out for their LP!
PARIS NIGHT DRIVE
[HearDis! 302]
Paris in the house again! This time via London. Morgan Hammer, a Paris-based female artist, presents us her first EP on Matt Walsh’s Clouded Vision imprint and we’re pretty impressed! If you are the type of person that likes to speed on the Boulevard Périphérique in a Citroën DS at night – this is your track! And well, if you do prefer to do other things, “Libillule” will probably still be right up your alley. We’re eagerly looking forward to her future work… Stream her track right here to join the club!
JACQUES IS BACK
[HearDis! 301]
Friend of (the) house Jacques Renault can do no wrong in our book! The Brooklyn-based DJ, Producer, Let’s Play House-co-owner and jacques of all trades is back at it again for 2013, providing us with a stunning double A-side on his own imprint. “Back To You” is the type of disco influenced house banger that comes to light, when one’s not some knucklehead with a wifi modem, but a classically trained musician with a bullet-proof understanding of dance music. The release features a remix by Parisian bearers of hope “Paradis”, who’ve already put out amazing stuff on Beats in Space and who manage to live up to all high expectations once again. We have the Paradis remix right here as a free limited download! You should put this on your portable device and play it while heading over to your local record store to pick up also the vinyl record… Talk about a no-brainer!
A FEAST THAT MAKES YOU MOVE
[HearDis! 299]
Countless artists have expressed their appreciation for the city of love in versatile ways. Usually, this circumstance is a pretty good indicator for quality works of art – since one doesn’t just dedicate any type of output to a place so special. Mexico’s 22-year-old boy wonder La Royale joins this tradition in an appropriate manner: “Paris” on top notch imprint Electrique Music delivers just the pulsating big city groove one’d expect! Stream it right here and try to get your hands on this release in order to have it at your disposal on the road. Since, typically for Paris, it does the job wherever you are. To quote the great Hemingway: “If you are lucky enough to have lived in Paris as a young man, then wherever you go for the rest of your life, it stays with you, for Paris is a moveable feast.”
THESE FEET ARE MADE FOR CLUBBING
[HearDis! 297]
Clubfeet are five synth-pop-aficionados from Melbourne you should keep on your radar for 2013. Joyce Muniz is a Brazilian-born DJ, Producer and vocal artist residing in Vienna, who managed to make quite a name for herself over the past couple of years with her energetic DJ sets and productions. On New York City’s very own Plant Music – run by the legendary Stretch Armstrong and Dominique Keegan – these two worlds gently collide and result in just the sexy bassline-driven and multifaceted type of track you’d expect. Muito bom!
LET’S GET PHYSICAL
[HearDis! 296]
Charlotte Bendiks is a Norwegian DJ and Producer, who, when she’s not playing out or working on sassy music, likes to chill naked in a jacuzzi with a glass of Möet in each hand. Well, we drink to that! To hear what she’s all about, stream her track “Too Hot To Handle” right here, flaunting a tricky and sexy groove, topped by obscurely animating vocals. In order to understand the lyrics and the track in its entirety, one needs to be fluent in a number of languages, with body language being the most important one…
HOW STEEP IS YOUR LOVE?
[HearDis! 294]
The quiet storm-tronica-wave just won’t seem to come to an end – and boy, are we relieved! George Maple is, just as you’d expect by the name, an attractive woman from Australia that loves to lay her sultry voice over synth-fortified heartbreak-arrangements. It’s kind of ironic that she’d release music perfectly fitting the cold temperatures on the – from her perspective – other side of the world these days… but again, we’re more than relieved to have her accompany us through these cold and short days. We’re sure you’ll be just as relieved to have her in your life, so remember where you heard about her first!
KASPER’S BERLIN FASHION WEEK GOODY
[HearDis! 295]
Cats and kittens,
since you’re probably a good deal into fashion, you’ve most likely observed the numerous happenings at last week’s Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in Berlin online – or you were even lucky enough to be in town and check out some of the shows and events. I was really looking forward to watching the HUGO Fashion Show and to djing at the after-party… and ended up bed-bound with the worst flu! Bummer! But that didn’t keep me from cooking up a little exclusive download-treat for you guys: Check out my specially alternated dub version of my track “Sunrise” (featuring the fantastic Jacob Bellens) right here. Hope it floats your boat!
Cheers,
Kasper
