BLACK & GREY

Let’s face it – you can’t go wrong with a traditional black or grey outfit and every designer knows this little fact. Monochrome is a cooling counterpoint to the riotously clashing colors and patterns. So chic, so sleek, so inspirational. And look who has just worn the monochrome trend in a gorgeous HUGO Style. It’s actress Jennifer Lawrence in a dress from HUGO Fall 2012 and actor Michael Fassbender in a suit from HUGO Summer 2012 at the HUGO BOSS Formula 1 Party in Monaco. They say when in doubt, keep it simple. Stunning, right?

WILLIAMSBURG – THE NEW BROOKLYN

First all my friends and colleagues moved from Manhattan to Brooklyn – including HUGO designer Eyan Allen, who has totally fallen in love with his new neighbourhood. Whenever I booked a hotel in Manhattan my friends would tell me that the real buzz is across the bridge. Fair enough. But now everybody seems to be moving on to a new hipster neighbourhood – Williamsburg. Seriously??? I was sceptic, but take a walk up Bedford Avenue on a Saturday afternoon and you will know why this is the new spot to hang out and to go people watching and trend spotting.

COLOR OBSESSION

I love lime green. It’s the color of my favorite ice cream and it seems to go with everything! When it comes to colors I simply love how the summer months provide an opportunity to go as wild as you like with your color styling. Lime green is my new color obsession and it’s making me see spring and summer in a whole new light. The bright color combined with the right accessories can evoke a wonderful warm and modern simplicity. I do highly recommend that you incorporate a lime green piece of fashion into your life!

NIGHT WORKS DOESN’T NEED TO TRY TOO HARD

[HearDis! 191]

No one knows very much about Night Works, but the mystery is okay with us. Sometimes it’s nice to let the music just speak for itself. And if we’re to imagine what the members of Night Works are all about based on this song, “I Tried So Hard,” we’d guess they’re sensitive, quick witted and stylish. The music is full of grace and beauty, and it says everything it needs to in less than ten words and less than three minutes.

INTRODUCING MYSELF: NINA KRAVIZ

[YouTube jVie2FZighE]

Hi Everyone,
My Name is Nina Kraviz and I am a DJ and Producer from Moscow, aaaand: proud new member of the HUGO Tracks family! Eversince I released my debut Album earlier this year, I have been crazy busy travelling the world. And since I’m pretty interested in details and accessoires, I’ll be taking you guys on the road with me by continually blogging about exciting stuff and places I get to see. To get some rest from all the travelling, I like to indulge in watching good films and enjoying fine food.

As Kasper already informed you guys earlier, we had a great time at the Zoo Magazine shoot in Paris and I hope you’re enjoying the pictures as much as I do. Of course, I couldn’t introduce myself here without a little video greeting. I’ll be getting back to you with more fun things pretty soon, so make sure to stick around!

[YouTube 7J5YLGNhrkY]

Well, Hello!
This is Kasper Bjørke and I am a DJ and Producer from Copenhagen, Denkmark. I’m excited to say that I’ll be doing a collaboration with HUGO Tracks as of this month! My work with HUGO started off with a bang – namely a photo shoot we did in beautiful Paris for Zoo Magazine. Kindly check out the pictures that resulted from this fun time below, as well as the little video greeting we recorded during one of the breaks.

Among many other specials, I’m really looking forward to compiling and curating my personal HUGO Tracks – playlist in the days to come on this very blog. Ok, so I just wanted to say “hi!” without doing too much whistle-blowing…
You’ll be hearing more from me soon!

NOTHING TO BE ANGRY ABOUT

[HearDis! 189]

We looooooove this one from Human Don’t Be Angry. The song is called “1985,” and while it’s certainly got a throwback sound palette worthy of the track title, the Miaoux Miaoux remix is absolutely perfect for today’s dancefloor. Think of the most triumphant, blissed out moment in a three-hour Todd Terje set. And then you’ve got it… We’re happy to be offering it up for free download. Take note, DJs. This one will kill ‘em.

…and show your ankles. It’s fresh, sexy and stylish. Showing them off is hot at the moment! Some fashion-forward fellas have been showing them off for a few seasons and it looks like the trend is back again. With the summer fast approaching, all of you guys out there will be glad to hear this. To be honest – during the hot days, every bit helps! Enjoy the beautiful styles from HUGO Menswear Summer 2012 collection and then get out and show those sexy ankles! But watch out: This look calls for strictly no socks!

PELIFICS: HE WAS THE BEST

[HearDis! 187]

This one from Pelifics featuring AXXE almost reminds us of St. Vincent, with those breathy, almost pained (but still sweet) vocals. The music isn’t anything like the Saint’s, though. The instrumentation for “He Was The Best” is right out of an 80s film soundtrack, from the heavily reverberated drum machines to the distant guitar solo. It all comes together to make a track that sounds relevant but classic. Give it a spin, and hear for yourself.

FREE BEAR IN HEAVEN

[HearDis! 188]

We’ve had Bear In Heaven‘s most recent album, I Love You, It’s Cool, stuck on our record player since it came out at the beginning of April, in quite the same way that we had their last release Beast Rest Forth Mouth stuck on our record player for about three months after it came out. “Cool Light” is representative of I Love You‘s melding of dreamy soundscapes and driving yet subdued beats, a perfect update on their already wonderful sound. We’re psyched to present it here as a free download so that you can get it stuck on your iPod.
