The Festival Guide
Who to watch out for
In his apartment in Berlin, electronic music producer and DJ Silvio tells us about his current projects. "The next piece I'm working on is a classical DJ set," he reveals. The Austrian has made a name for himself creating memorable soundscapes for some of the biggest names in art and fashion. No stranger to the festival circuit, Silvio shares his thoughts on festival style, how to prepare for a set and what to pack for performing outdoors.
If you want to be able to appreciate everything a festival has to offer, be sure to consult the below tips before leaving the house. Needless to say, the most important thing is to have fun - but it doesn't hurt to be prepared.
Silvio says his top tip for surviving a festival is to "drink lots of water“, and we couldn't agree more. Especially if it’s hot, be sure to keep plenty of liquids on hand.
Keep your phone handy
At a festival, your phone is your lifeline. Pack a portable charger, so that if you get lost you can use your mobile find your friends again.
Stock up on wet wipes
When there is a hour-and-a-half wait for the shower, wet wipes are your lifesaver. Make sure you have a pack on hand at all times.
Keep sun cream on hand
You know the score: apply liberally. Unless you want to be the friend who's a lovely shade of red for the duration of the festival.
Don't forget your ticket
None of the above matters if you can't even make it past the entrance.
