Many of the materials we use for our products are of animal origin - such as leather, wool and down. Therefore, it is of great importance that we recognise and comply with animal and species protection guidelines. We reject the use of products that have been created using animal testing as well as inappropriate animal breeding and husbandry. We do not use farmed fur or exotic leathers. The only leather materials we use are those that are a by-product of the food industry.
All products of animal origin must adhere to recognised animal and species protection regulations such as CITES (the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora). We also follow the guidelines of the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIC) and recognise the Five Freedoms as a guiding principle for animal welfare:
(1) freedom from hunger or thirst
(2) freedom from discomfort
(3) freedom from pain, injury or disease
(4) freedom to express normal behaviour
(5) freedom from fear and distress
In order to meet the recognised requirements of animal and species protection, we have established our own Animal Welfare Policy, drafted with assistance from animal welfare organisation FOUR PAWS.
